We are qualified, licenced Part L energy assessors and can provide SAP calculations for new residential buildings. We advise clients on compliance helping to find the most suitable and cost effective means to meet Part L of the Building Regulations. Once complete we provide the EPC and As Built documentation. Examples of some of our SAP (Part L1A) work can be found here:
Blewburton prepared a energy and sustainability reports as part of a planning application for 12 apartments and a new club building.
Despite initial Fabric Energy Efficiency calculations not appearing positive, Blewburton helped the builder to work with the ICF supplier, bespoke Y-values for non-repeat thermal bridges and the final construction gained a strong compliance under Part L.
Blewburton modelled a representative sample of units in SAP and SBEM software to develop a picture of the 71-flat site’s performance. This allowed the design team to settle on a cost effective and efficient construction.
Blewburton Limited performed the requisite SAP calculations and modelling to allow the developer to avoid a costly air source heat pump installation that would not have met the specific carbon reduction compliance for this local authority.
Blewburton Limited helped a single four bed dwelling constructed within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) to be Code Level 3 compliant.
This development is a rural exception site which requires a minimum Code Level 3 compliance. Blewburton Limited took the development from pre-assessment, design, consultancy and Post Construction Review, and Blewburton performed the SAP calculations to help all dwellings exceed Part L1A by at least 25%.
Blewburton Limited worked with the developer from the early design stage providing advice on the most effective measures to take to achieve the desired Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, through to Design Stage submission and Post Construction Review. The construction subsequently won the LABC Central Building Excellence Award for Best Social or Affordable Housing Scheme.
Blewburton Limited helped a developer offset non-compliance with Part L1A of the Building Regulations, caused by the retention of an inefficient heating system in the finished development.
