The New Energy Performance of Buildings Register
The New Energy Performance of Buildings Central Register is due for release on the 20th of September 2020. This will change the way EPC’s are accessed and printable versions will have a new appearance.
The New London Plan is expected to launch in late 2020, Blewburton presents a summary of the the key areas to be aware of in relation to energy and emission in construction.
Blewburton undertook the SAP calculations and supplied Part L1B consultation for the conversion of a 1980s office block into 12 apartments over three floors in the Berkshire town of Wokingham.
Blewburton assisted in submitting the required Part L1B paperwork and report to Building Control and the project is a good example of the benefits of engaging a SAP assessor trained in this area of the Building Regulations, an area of strong expertise at Blewburton Limited.
Despite initial Fabric Energy Efficiency calculations not appearing positive, Blewburton helped the builder to work with the ICF supplier, bespoke Y-values for non-repeat thermal bridges and the final construction gained a strong compliance under Part L.
This project involved undertaking the SAP calculations and EPCs for the three phase development of a new housing estate in West Oxfordshire comprising 97 dwellings, for a well know local house building company.
Blewburton undertook the SAP calculations and supplied the London Plan Energy Report for a development of five houses and twenty-two apartments on a site in West London.
Blewburton modelled a representative sample of units in SAP and SBEM software to develop a picture of the 71-flat site’s performance. This allowed the design team to settle on a cost effective and efficient construction.
Blewburton Ltd undertook the SAP calculations and supplied the Energy Performance Certificates for 327 apartments in Central London.
